ParkLife

Wildwood Church is inviting views on its proposals for ParkLife, a new community hub to be built in Wildwood Park, before they submit a planning application in October.

The church has been working with local Councillors, including Ward Councillors Ray and Jenny Barron, on proposals for a cafe and community rooms since 2014, and are now ready to submit a planning application.

On Wednesday 18th September there will be an Open Afternoon at The Gateway, Wildwood, ST17 4RA, from 3-6pm. Anyone interested can pop in for an opportunity to look at the designs and chat to the architects over a cup of tea and cake.

Church Leader Markus Weber said, “Over the summer we had the designs for the community hub on display at our volunteer pop-up cafe in Wildwood Park.

Many people reviewed these, and we received lots of positive comments about the building proposals, particularly the cafe and soft play area (for those occasional rainy days!).

And now, on September 18th, we’d like to extend an invitation for people to meet our architect, Andrew Brown, and give us their views on the designs before they are finalised.”

“We are very excited about ParkLife. It will be great to have a place for the church to meet and we want the facility to be really useful to the local community throughout the year. We have heard plenty of great ideas since we started discussing this – and this Open Day is another opportunity for feedback before we submit our plans to the Council.”

If anyone wants to see the designs but can’t make Sept 18th, they are welcome to contact the church via parklife@wildwoodchuch.co.uk, or call 01785 665062.

We are currently raising the remaining £16,000 to submit the Planning application, if you would like to make a donation please visit our Just Giving page.
