Through the Eclipse Child Bereavement Service, we worked with children and young people who had experienced the loss of someone significant – providing ongoing support in a safe setting, through schools, to help vulnerable young people through these difficult times.
Eclipse was started in April 2008 and has run from its base with Wildwood Church at the Gateway on Stafford for over 10 years when it closed in March 2019.
The vision and passion for this unique service came from Crystal Johnson and she has been its primary and senior grief support worker throughout this time. Others, including Jenny Barlow, have made a valuable contribution and many children and families have been helped over the years.
Crystal brought a very personal set of skills, drive, enthusiasm and commitment to this demanding work, teaching others to become support workers as well as supporting children directly. She has been an inspiration to many and will be greatly missed.
A huge thank you to everyone who made Eclipse possible through fundraising and donations, or through prayer and practical help. Please continue to pray for the children and families who have been supported as they move forward with their lives.
